Glen Wood Craft began back in 1987 when, due to government restructuring, my career as a Forest Ranger came to an abrupt end. I’ve always loved trees and being in the outdoors, so to work with wood seemed the right option for my next phase of life. I started wood turning, which soon led into carving and now, almost 30 years later, I am also a skilled sculptor.
Working largely with NZ timbers, Burr woods are my specialty for their rare grain and colour, making for exciting sculpture and turnery.
All items are lovingly hand crafted in my studio with a high quality finish. I enjoy a worldwide customer base and am proud of each piece produced.
I live at Wakapuaka, Nelson with my wife Marie and together we have four adult children. I welcome people into my workshop, but can also be found every Saturday at the Nelson Arts Market.
